と言っても2009年の公開作品ですが、やっと今頃見ました。
得意のロードムービー調で、淡々黙々とした映画ですが、
どこかエネルギッシュな映画でした。

ウォン･カーウェイ監督の盟友、クリストファー･ドイルが撮影監督を務め、
彼独特のカメラ目線と、最後の最後に見せてくれる手持ち風の
意味ありげなショットが気になる終わり方をします。

主人公の「孤独な男」に託された使命は
「自分こそ偉大だと思う男を墓場に送れ」
任務達成のための連絡方法はマッチ箱だけ。

舞台はスペイン。
カフェでカプチーノを必ず2つ頼みチビチビ飲んでいる所に
「スペイン語は話さないのか」と言う言葉を合言葉に、
「孤独な男」同様に、コードネームを持つ「仲間」から渡されるマッチ箱
その中には次の場所を示す小さな紙が入っているだけで、
「仲間」とは他愛も無い会話と思わせながらも、
メッセージが込められ、次の展開に繋がって行く。

最後に辿り着いた目的地で「孤独な男」が、その目的を果たします。
仕事を実行するまでが一番見たい！と思わせながらも、
見せないところがジャームッシュらしさでした。

誰かが言っていた「成功する人は、待てる人」
そんな言葉を思い出させてくれた作品でした。
